Hi! I’m Jules. I’m a wordsmith.

I’m a journalist, writer, editor, and linguist based in Columbus, Ohio. I work with news outlets and magazines to tell the stories of the world around me. I approach journalism as a public service: everyone deserves free, reliable access to information about the world around them, so they can make their own informed decisions. It’s my job to get them that information.

I also work with individuals and businesses to refine their stories and create the inspirational, visceral, memorable impact they need to succeed. I’m trained as a linguist: I’m fascinated by the structure of language and how I can use it to create nuance. I’ve been writing professionally for the past five years—and independently since I was 8 years old.

As much as I love writing, though, I don’t love writing about myself. So let’s do this choose-your-own-adventure style!
